Our Story

Hi there, we're Calmly Candles, a family-run business started by Lauren and recently joined by Deborah. 

After moving back to Norfolk, Lauren needed a new base for candle making and with mum to the rescue, Deborah offered to not only host a space to make the candles but to also help with the business. 

Calmly Candles started back in 2020 after wanting to find more eco-conscious candles that are safe to breathe in whilst lit in our houses, for everyone including children and our beloved pets. 

At Calmly Candles we are all about having an open discussion, I didn't know how harmful so many candles can be just because of the wax they use, or the wick used or even the fragrance that is used. So I can only imagine there are lots of you who also were not aware of this.

Here at Calmly we have created candles that use 100% soy wax, which is a natural and renewable source, we use 100% cotton wicks and have made clear which candles use fragrance and which use 100% essential oils. I also source my equipment and raw materials from UK based companies to help reduce our carbon footprint. 

We are proud to also plant a tree for every order! We are working with Ecologi - take a look at our forest growing here. 

I honestly love every scent I have made in the collection, but if I had to have one favourite it would be Cinnamon! Christmas is my favourite time of year, I would celebrate it every day just to enjoy being with my family & eating too much food and the Cinnamon candle reminds me of those lovely festivities!
